Start among the brick commercial blocks, descend toward the decks and tugboat views, then follow the working river before dinner. The fast Piscataqua current and bridge traffic distinguish this from a decorative harbor walk.

Dinner

Choose Bow Street seafood or a small downtown dining room.

Keep the first dinner near the room. Bow Street supplies river views and seafood; central brick dining rooms suit a quieter reservation before a theater performance or evening walk.

Saturday

Strawbery Banke, Prescott Park, and the South End

Begin at Puddle Dock when the museum opens, continue through the gardens and clapboard streets, then return downtown for dinner or a performance.

Choose an early cafe that keeps the route pointed toward Puddle Dock. Confirm current service hours before relying on brunch for a museum-opening arrival.

Leave Puddle Dock for the park gardens, piers, Point of Graves, and South End streets. Return toward Bow Street on foot rather than moving the car for another downtown stop.
